FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sports Books Will Be Integrated Into Classrooms

First time authors Glenn Berggoetz and Jeff McBride have agreed to an eight-book deal with San Francisco based educational publisher, SCOBRE Press for their Fantastic Forty series of books. The Fantastic Forty series consists of eight books covering the forty greatest athletes in baseball, football, basketball, hockey, African-American athletes, Latino athletes, women athletes, and NASCAR.  The biographies of each athlete typically run 400 to 600 words and will include instruction for educators, including a question and answer section.

“We hope to be able to help children develop a life-long love, not just for sports, but for reading,” say Berggoetz and McBride

SCOBRE Press is a growing publisher which has released an ever-increasing number of books into the juvenile educational / consumer market since 2001. SCOBRE publisher Brett Hodus said, ”we are very excited to bring such unique new material to the middle grade and educational markets.”

Bergoetz and McBride's agent, Andrew Whelchel of National Writers Literary Agency negotiated the deal. Whelchel added, “These books will represent a significant departure from the antiquated text books to which we have all become accustomed.”
